Our history
Since 2019
Sokolo Foundation is a community-based organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable children and youth through education, sports, and technology. We operate in marginalized communities, providing access to resources and opportunities that foster growth and development. Our team of passionate professionals and volunteers work tirelessly to deliver impactful programs and services.
Founded in 2019, Sokolo Foundation began as a community football program, recognizing the power of sports to unite and inspire. As we grew, we expanded our focus to address the complex challenges faced by our communities, including limited access to education and technology. Our journey has been marked by partnerships, collaborations, and a deep commitment to our mission.

Our programs
Sokolo Football Academy
Our football academy is a cornerstone of our sports program, nurturing young talent and promoting healthy lifestyles. We have (6) six age-specific teams: B9, B11, B13, G13, B15, G15 and a senior boys’ team.
In 2023, we achieved a significant milestone by registering the academy with the Uganda Youth Football Association as a full member. This recognition enabled us to participate in the U13 National Championship, where our team proudly represented Kawempe and reached the quarterfinals.
Sokolo Leagues
A series of competitions creating a pathway for soccer talents to develop, inspiring wellness among youth, promoting community engagement, and fostering teamwork.
Sokolo Community Computer Hub
Bridging the digital divide by teaching computer skills and knowledge, increasing job prospects and capacity among our youth, providing access to technology, and promoting digital literacy. Our computer hub opened its doors on February 17th, 2024, providing access to technology and digital skills training for our community. We have enrolled over 20 participants who are undergoing training in Computer Essentials, Web Development, and Graphics & Design.
We are committed to bridging the digital divide and empowering our youth with the skills needed to succeed in today’s technology-driven world. Our hub offers a safe and inclusive learning environment, with a specific class for girls only, three days a week, to promote gender equality and encourage female participation in STEM fields.
